UPDATE: Resurrection!

I am happy to have some minor good news to report in this seemingly never ending runaway-shit-show-dumpter fire known as 2020.

I have officially (minus waiting on 2 grades) finished my first year of law school. So now that I have a relative sense of what to expect from law school, I am slowly beginning to make time again for this hobby and I have a few projects that are in the works.

Terrain Project(s) On Hold:

My terrain project I had been working on before law school is sadly still shelved for now because all of my random junk that I have collected (hoarded) to build terrain is at home 3 hours away from where I live now in Baton Rouge for law school. I also don’t foresee me being able to really start any new terrain projects for awhile (I’m not going to say I definitely won’t though) because, one (1) I don’t really have the space for the materials to build terrain. Two (2) I don’t have the space/work room really build any terrain. Three (3) I am moving apartments in July so I don’t want to have more to move, and lastly I am moving in with a friend, and while he is awesome, I am not sure he would appreciate me trashing the place up with materials and miniature terrain haha.

Current Projects in the Works:

Currently I have three (3) miniature projects in the works, that I am just waiting on some orders to arrive before I can work on them.

The first project I am working on is my Night Lords Dream Team Kill Team. Ever since I got some friends into Kill Team and we played our first game I used the new CSM kit I made into Iron Warriors (I made a post about them if you want to see), I discovered that a basic CSM kill team without elites sucks pretty bad, and that I am such a nerd that I wanted to make each unit of my kill team a unique character with a name, background and personality to enjoy the game to its fullest. So with that in mind, I have been planning this Kill team in my mind for about a year now. I have created the roster, and I have all the bits that I am going use, I just need a few tools and things that I have ordered to actually get started on it.

But enough boring stuff that I’m sure you like don’t care about. The teaser I am sure you actually care about is what the Night Lords Kill Team project will be as far as conversations/kit bashing. I am kong to make a full tutorial/step-by-step post (likely multiple post) of my making them, so I won’t go into to much detail right now, but what I will say is that I am going to use the old CSM squad kit and scale them up so they will be the size of the new CSM models. I am also going to do something a bit different and make at least two God specific/Cult Marines that will clearly show their devotion to their particular chaos God, but will still very much so be identifiable as Night Lords.

The second project I am going to do is another Iron Warriors project. I got picked up the kit that has the CSM units from Shadowspear, so I am going to make almost all of those units into Iron Warriors, taking my second step towards making an Iron Warriors army to field with my World Eaters (I want enough of both so I can have them as detachments and make use of each of their legion traits). This will be a much easier project than the Night Lords KT, but don’t worry, I am going to do a fair bit more than just slapping on an IW paint scheme.

The third project I am going to do is making a 10 man khorne berzerker squad that is all in MKIII Iron Armor. This project is going to be a bit difficult because am going to repose every model, in addition to scaling them up to be the same size as the new CSM models. This project may take much more time start than I had planned because for some reason I cannot purchase the MKIII World eaters shoulder pads (or anything else) from ForgeWorld. I have no clue what the problem is, but all of their products show price, but when I click on them there is only a “Share” button but no purchase button. I have emailed their customer support though, so hopefully that will be resolved. in the mean time I will see if I can buy the shoulder pads somewhere else.

Well that is all for now! I will start posting updates on these projects as soon as my orders come in and I can start working on them!

I'm a law student that absolutely loves WH40K, and all things related. As far as the hobby goes, I love to do kitbashes, paint and sculpt miniatures. I also love making scratch built tabletop terrain. I honestly almost consider the terrain aspect a hobby all unto itself as creativity is really your only limitation with scratch building terrain.
